Kindergarten

Have students go to #19 abcya.com under kindergarten.  Kindergarten does not have headphones so use the ones stacked on the table (by the green screen).  I usually have these plugged in before the students arrive.

Have students click on the gold ball on the tree for Kindergarten.
On the aqua folder have students go to Marble Math and work until they open Lock 3.  After they open Lock 3 they may go to the purple folder and draw Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus.  If time allows have the students go to the orange folder at the very bottom of the page.  They may make a Gingerbread House or Make a Christmas Tree.

3rd Grade

Hello Third Grade! Today I want you  to find 10 facts about your state.  You may use Google to find websites that will have those facts but you may not use Wikepedia.  Write your link and fact down on a separate sheet of paper. You may use two facts from each website.

If you finish early you may work on Dance Mat Typing Level 3 Stage 9 or Level 4 Stage 10.

I will see you on Thursday!  Follow directions and be great listeners for Mrs. Clees.

Steps:
1. Pour 1 cup of corn starch and 1 cup of water into the bowl.
2. Mix the two together with your hands until it becomes gooey and
doughy.

Resurrection Buns

A sweet treat to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus!

RESURRECTION BUNS

Take a Grand (or other large ) canned biscuit. Flatten the biscuit out until it's about 5 inches across. Spread melted butter, sugar and cinnamon on it. The spices represent the spices used to anoint Jesus' body before His burial.

Take one large marshmallow. The marshmallow represents Jesus. It is white because it stands for His purity and His sinless life. Place the marshmallow in the center of the biscuit, then fold the sides around it forming a "tomb".

The Meaning of Easter
Read the original Easter story of Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection.

Celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus
Pinch the sides of their tombs closed and then  place them crease side down on a baking sheet so they will not open while cooking. Put more butter, cinnamon and sugar on the outside. Discuss the sweet taste of the spices and how Jesus gave us the sweetest gift we will ever receive.

Now bake the buns following the directions on the biscuit package. Then they need a little cooling time because the marshmallow will be very hot.

As you bite into the cooled bun what do you find in the center? Is  the marshmallow there? Compare this to the empty tomb.  Share you thoughts with me when you return to school after Spring Break.

Happy Easter,
Mrs. Whipple
